Year 11 Prom Reminder
Please note that tonight there will be a photographer and a photo booth available. Photos taken will be available to purchase at a small cost on the night, so bring money if needed.
For the attention of learners attending the History trip to Poland 2nd-5th July 2019:
Travel documents required:
Passport (to be handed to Mr. Keeble on the bus)
EHIC card (to be handed to Miss Horler on the bus)
Timings:
Arrive at ACS between 2:15 and 2:30 for a prompt departure at 2:45
Outgoing flight from Gatwick at 9:25 am on Tuesday 2nd July
Return flight from Krakow at 14:55 and return to ACS by 20:00 (traffic depending)

Essential items to take:
All liquids must be 100ml and under (otherwise they will have to be left at the airport)
Suncream (current weather forecasts say mid to high 20s)
European plug adapter (two-pronged plug)
Mobile phone and home contact number (phones are covered under the "Go Roam" agreement in Europe so they can be used as in the UK)
Any medication being taken must be clearly labelled, with the required dosage and number of times taken, and given to Mr. Keeble upon arrival at ACS
Clothing:
Comfortable pair of walking shoes (i.e. trainers)
Raincoat (should the weather take a turn for the worse)
Sensible clothing (there is a 7kg limit on cabin luggage)
Excursions:
All learners will be placed in groups of between 8-10 and will be assigned to one of the three members of staff attending the trip
Staff will remain at a designated meeting point during free time and all learners will be given the school mobile phone number in case they need to contact staff)

ITALY TRIP Update - all safe and sound here in Sorrento. It was a long day travelling yesterday so everyone is refreshed and ready to walk up Mt Vesuvius today! Suncream has been liberally applied as the mercury is rising steadily. Ciao for now!
Triumphant Day in the Capital
Congratulations to the Astra/Sirius track and field team who accumulated 18 medals in the WSAPLD finals at Leckwith Stadium, Cardiff.
Competing with schools from across South and West Wales, the eleven-strong squad enjoyed the experience of a marvellous event and came home clanking with silverware.
