Message for 6th Form Students

Hopefully, you are all well and are looking forward to returning to school on Monday 15th March for face-to-face teaching. We are looking forward to welcoming you back from 8:30 am. School uniform must be worn.

START OF THE DAY:

The arrangements for the start of the day are as normal using the Purple Entrance and attending lessons according to your timetable as is usual since September 2020.
As was the arrangement previously, temperature checks will continue and you will access the consortium as usual, with transport etc as it was when you were last here.
Jackie Wakefield will be here to welcome you as will Mr Beddoe as was the previous arrangement.

SCHOOL DAY, LESSONS, FACE COVERINGS, TESTING:

The school day is as it was from September to December.
Can I urge you to check carefully the ClassCharts letter that you would have received from Mrs Morgans yesterday. This gave you details on the arrangements and also on the wearing of face coverings and arrangements for testing. Please refer to that document for specific details and information on this.
Can I emphasise that face coverings must be worn in all areas, on school & CVC transport, according to the guidance sent to you so please check this carefully. It is vital to follow the guidance and to adhere to the wearing of face coverings, maintaining the physical distancing and also to be sensible to the needs of others as well as yourself.
Details of testing have been sent to you. Lateral Flow Testing kits are available if you give consent, as set out in the communication you should have received today and according to the specific guidance for sixth form learners on this. We would encourage you to participate in this and the kits will be made available to you should you require them.
Arrangements in classrooms are as they were previously with the wiping down of areas, disposing of materials in the bins and so forth.
You will notice that there are new tables and chairs in the sixth form area. Please maintain the physical distancing that have been set out in that area and also please do not move any furniture. There is plenty of room for you to work in this area in a safe manner, so I want to reassure you with that.
Please always maintain the physical distancing of two metres to keep yourself and others safe.

WELLBEING, CDGs & ENGAGEMENT WITH LEARNING

As you return to school, we are very aware that this has been an anxious time and we have tried and will continue to support you on your return. Please don't hesitate to speak with Mr Keeble or myself if you require additional support.
Mrs Leyshon has sent out information regarding meetings concerning CDGs on Tuesday 16th March at 2:00 - 3:00 pm and 6:00 - 7:00 pm to discuss CDGs with parents & carers. Please make sure that your parents are aware of this meeting as it will help to inform you and clarify the process for you.
Ultimately the key message of attend and engage and you will achieve still stands. Put simply, produce the evidence that meets the course requirements, and you will have done your part and you will achieve. No evidence however could have impact upon the CDG you receive later this year so please, as you have been doing, give of your best in the weeks ahead.
Finally, there have been queries regarding consortium arrangements. These will be as they were, with physical distancing as was the case previously and the wearing of face coverings on transport and in the other CVC schools and whilst waiting for the transport will continue. Please follow the guidance that has been issued to you for this.

Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you from 8:30 am on Monday

Best wishes
Mr Lovell
Assistant Head
