Dear Parent/Guardian
We would like to invite your child to attend a free breakfast club on the mornings of their English and Mathematics examinations. We are providing a healthy breakfast for all Year 11 pupils to give your child the best opportunity to be successful in their GCSEs. Good nutrition the morning of an examination can give pupils energy and improve their mental alertness to allow them the best opportunity to succeed. Research has also shown that consuming water may have a physiological effect on thinking functions that leads to improved examination performance.
All Year 11 are welcome to have toast or cereal, as well as a portion of fruit or yoghurt (no chocolate, cakes etc will be available at this time of the morning).
The restaurant will be open from 8.15am for the Year 11 pupils if they would like to come in to school for their breakfast and for them to have a quiet place before the examinations start with their friends. The examinations will begin at 8.45am so the pupils will have plenty of time before their exam for their breakfast.
The breakfast club will run on from 8.15am on the following days:
Monday 6th November – Maths Numeracy 1 Exam
Tuesday 7th November – English Language Exam (resit)
Wednesday 8th November – Maths Numeracy 2 Exam
Thursday 9th November – English Language Exam (resit)
Friday 10th November – Mathematics 1 Exam
Monday 13th November – Mathematics 2 Exam
Many thanks for your support in this matter. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.
