On 15th and 26th February the Local Authority will be undertaking a DART incentive at Aberdare Community School. This means they will be monitoring school attendance and making home visits to all pupils who are off on these days.
It is vital that all pupils make every effort to attend school at all times. Excellent school attendance is a top priority at ACS. We are keen to encourage all pupils to take advantage of every teaching and learning opportunity available to them at school and in order for that to happen it is important that they are here every day.
If your child is off school for whatever reason then we require all parents/carers to inform the school of reasons. If we do not receive a reason then unfortunately the absence goes down as unauthorise. Just to remind you that your child only needs 5 days, 10 sessions of unauthorised absences and the paperwork for the Fixed Penalty Notice Fine of £60 can be done.
