At Aberdare Community School, excellent school attendance is one of our top priorities. We are keen to encourage all pupils to take advantage of every teaching and learning opportunity available to them at the school and in order for that to happen it is important that they are here.
With this in mind, on the 15th and 26th February we will be holding 100% attendance days. Although all pupils should be present every day, on these days we would like every pupil to be present at school. If you have made medical or dental appointments during these days, we kindly ask that you make every effort to rearrange these if possible. If not, please ensure that your child only misses the minimum amount of time and not a whole morning or afternoon. During these dates there will be prizes for classes and individuals to recognise and reward good attendance.
On these dates we will also be collaborating with RCT Attendance and Wellbeing Officers. If any child is absent without authorisation or we are not informed by 10am on the day of absence of the reason why a child is absent from school, an officer will be in contact with the home. Also, Attendance Officers will be holding “meet and greet” sessions at the school entrance for pupils who arrive late to school during the same period.
We appreciate your continuing support in helping your child achieve excellent attendance.
